Now and Then

I love that this family decided to have professional pictures taken.  Their son may be all grown up and working hard in Medical School, but they all took the time to capture their family at this point in time.  So many people stop having family portraits done when their children get older and I think it's just as important to get great photographs "now" as it was "then".

It was an absolute joy to meet this family.  I'm glad I'm not the one deciding which picture to use for their holiday card!

You all know I like dogs right?  If you incorporate family pets into your session I may treat them like one of you!

Under Construction

When mom suggested we shoot at the construction site of their future home I was up for something unique and different.  Of course now I have so many more ideas of things I wish we would have done, but all I can do is take those notes with me to future sessions!  The grounds outside the homesite also offered some fun options.

(As for the younger son's transition lenses… you'll see sometimes I lighted them and other times I didn't depending on whether or not I could get them to look right.)

So bummed I didn't put mom and younger son on the opposite side in these next two!

They looks so good I forced them to pose like high schoolers here… I like it.

The next two pics should be entitled "Mood Swing".  I love his personality.

Seriously Cute Siblings

This was the first time I've photographed these kiddos all at once!  I'm not sure if it's partly because I'm about to be a mother of three or just because I've typically only seen their personalities separate, but it was enjoyable to say the least to watch all of them together.  Mom and dad made a fabulous team helping me get the "money shots" in record time.  I even snuck in a few of them with the kids even though they weren't prepared!

I hope mom doesn't hate me for adding this one… I just LOVE it.
